About us

The exceptional wines produced on the basis of the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking at Caucasus International University laid the foundation for the establishment of Etno Okami. A number of students, together with the professors, have contributed to the creation of the wines over the years.

Prior to the official establishment of the company, these wines had already gained consumer goodwill in both Georgian and international markets. Before acquiring legal status in 2020, several wine samples, supported by the university, were showcased at festivals where Georgia had not previously been represented. Since 2021, Etno Okami products have become available on Georgian market, and we have actively participated in both international and local competitions, earning numerous awards.

In 2022, Etno Okami registered the protected designation of origin wine “Okami” with the support of Caucasus International University and based on the research, which quickly received official status following the necessary procedures.

Notably, the management of Etno Okami consists entirely of graduates and students of CIU Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, allowing us to present quality created by knowledge.
